Some very exciting news!
WHERE DID THIS YEAR GO??
Greetings you precious, hibernating bear cubs!
Well... what a damn year it's been! To be honest, I'm saving all my truly emo thoughts for one last newsletter I'll send out on the 31st because with the stress of the impending holidays in full swing, no one really needs me to send out an 18-page equivalent email of me weeping and saying how thankful I am for every single one of you... I'm saving that as a special little treat to round out the year of big feelings. You're welcome.
But, despite all evidence to the contrary, I do have a purpose for this newsletter outside of rambling away, so let's dive in.

Okay so, I HAVE SOME REALLY! EXCITING! NEWS!!!!!

I GET TO LAUNCH THE PLUS ONE WITH CHLOE FREAKING GONG AT THE STRAND IN NEW YORK CITY.
I can't emphasize enough what a dream come true this is. At the beginning of marketing and publicity plan for TPO, I mentioned to my publicist extraordinaire, Alyssa, that one of my biggest author dreams would be to do an event at The Strand, and she made my dreams come true 😭😭
On Wednesday, April 5 at 7pm, I get to talk with Chloe Gong, one of my favorite authors and humans about Taylor Swift (and maybe my book is there's time... doubt it).
Register for the event here where you can also order a copy of The Plus One (signed if that tickles your fancy)! Make sure to hold onto that receipt if you do order 👀
I truly am so so excited for this event, and I can't thank Chloe enough for agreeing to be my convo partner and for the Strand the strand for hosting us... I'll definitely be sobbing.
I have a few more in-person events in the works that I can't announce yet but I'll be screaming about it as soon as I can.
As a fun little reminder, The Plus One releases April 4, 2023 and it has:
😮💨 Brother's Best Friend
🚨Childhood enemies to lovers
🧎♀️Fake dating
🔥Roasting you is my love language
👄 emotional 69ing
🏕There’s only one tent
🕊Pair of grumpies
🧠 PTSD and therapy rep
This book is so incredibly dear to me and probably the most vulnerable thing I've written. Getting to the end of the story took a lot, but in the end, I'm so proud of Jude and Dira and will always hold a special place in my heart for them. I am (as always) humbled beyond belief to write these books about love for every brain. And, if you end up pre-ordering, KEEP THOSE RECEIPTS FOR SOMETHING EXCITING I CAN ANNOUNCE IN FEBRUARY *HING* *HINT* *HINT*
Music 🎼
Okay so obviously I've been pretty much only listening to Taylor Swift's Midnights AND GUESS WHO IS GOING TO SEE HER ON TOUR.
I spent way too much money on tickets but I found some (way after the whole pre-sale shit show) and I'll be in Las Vegas rupturing blood vessels, ear drums, and vocal chords with the raw excitement.
But to show I have incredible range, here is a cover of a Taylor Swift song I've been loving

Book Rec 📚
I was lucky enough to read an ARC of The Gay Best Friend by Nicolas DiDomizio a few months back and I haven't stopped thinking about it. This book is irreverent, chaotic, outrageous, hilarious, and absolutely belongs on your radar.
And these were already in this email template from last December and who am I to withhold such beauty?

And here's this thing:
The End 🤡
I hope you all have the happiest and healthiest holidays possible. We've been through so much these past few years, be gentle and kind with yourselves. Give yourself the grace and compassion you give others. You deserve it.
All my love,
Mazey ❤️🧠🦷
