Hello my precious cherry blossom!
Guess who once again forgot they had a newsletter and that it’s a good idea to send stuff out somewhat regularly?? This gal!!!! In my defense, wedding planning has not helped me be particularly organized for this release.
A word to the wise, planning your wedding one month after your book releases is a really awful idea!
BUT, stressfulness aside, these next two months are abut to be some of the best of my life, and I am giddy with excitement with all that’s to come.
Tour
One of the greatest gifts this career has granted me is the opportunity to travel to so many new and beautiful places and meet fabulous booksellers across the country. I am lucky enough to be heading on tour for Late Bloomer and I have been building a floral printed wardrobe for over a year for this. (im not kidding)
I’m a list girly so while a cutesy graphic would definitely be more aesthetically appealing here’s this shit instead:
April 13 Pre-Release Ice Cream Social hosted by Malaprop’s x The Hop Ice Cream (where I worked during college!) from 2-4pm EST Asheville, NC. You can pre-order signed and personalized (including unhinged doodles and taylor swift quotes) from Malaprops here.
April 16 Late Bloomer launch event at the Novel Neighbor in St. Louis, MO at 7pm (event link coming soon). Don’t forget, pre-orders through Novel Neighbor get you exclusive goodies including a sticker, bookmark, and postcard designed by yours truly. See below for details!
April 17 in conversation with Serena Kaylor at Quail Ridge Books in Raleigh, NC (7pm)
April 19 in conversation with Casey McQuiston at The Ripped Bodice Brooklyn. To somehow make this event even better (I can’t believe it’s possible) the incredibly talented @floraandflaunabrooklyn will also be giving a free flower stem to all ticket holders 🥹🌸
April 26-27 Apollycon in D.C., you can pre-order any of my titles for pick-up at the event here. Please note, while Apollycon starts on the 25th, I will not be in attendance until Friday.
May 1 Wake Forest Library virtual event at 6:30pm EST.
May 2 Books Over Drinks at M. Judson Books in Greenville, SC, in conversation with Serena Kaylor. Tickets include a copy of the book and a free signature cocktail inspired by Late Bloomer.
May 4 Read it Again Books in Suwanee, GA at 2pm EST.
Pre-Order Goodies!
If I haven’t been obnoxious enough about it, Late Bloomer releases April 16th and I’m offering a cornucopia of goodies to those of you that pre-order!
I will be launching Late Bloomer into the world with the lovely folks at Novel Neighbor in St. Louis, and they are offering 🌸exclusive🌸 swag designed by yours truly for pre-orders! Who wouldn’t want an “every garden needs a hoe!” sticker???? Place your preorder here! (please note, these are while supplies lasts so don’t wait!)
Already preordered or have your go to bookstore you love to support? Never fear! All preorders—any format from any retailer— are eligible to get this absolutely stunning transparent overlay of the flower farm and cabin that is central to Late Bloomer if you submit your receipt here. The one and only Jenifer Prince, who designed the Late Bloomer cover and is generally one of my favorite contemporary artists, was kind enough to make this glorious illustration, and was such a treat to work with. She incorporated flowers mentioned throughout the book and also chose colors to reflect the bi-pride flag in honor of Opal 🥹💖.
Drafting Cave
And just because I’m a tease and so damn enamored with my new characters, I’m deep into drafting my 2025 release and let me tell ya…. these are by far the most irreverent, ill-tempered characters I’ve ever written and I’m just having an absolute ball watching them both fall to their knees hehehe.
The [Horrifying] GIF
honestly i think this one is super cute
The End 🤡
All my love,
Mazey ❤️🧠🦷
omg I could've told you from experience not to do the wedding-one-month-post-book-release thing, MY BAD 🫠
